Feb 26: Give me a ring Phil

I’ve seen some reports in the last few days linking me with a return to Hull and although I’ve not been told anything officially I’d love the chance to make a return.

No disrespect to Oldham where I’m currently on loan and who have given me a chance to play first-team football again, but everyone knows I’m a Hull City fan and it would be amazing if I could go back there and try to help them stay in the Premier League.

As I’ve said I’ve not had any official word yet but if it came I’d jump on my bike and cycle back over there. And if the chain broke I’d run! I’d be that keen on a return.

During my last few weeks at the club a lot was made of my relationship with Phil Brown but I have to say it’s always been different class, there was never a crossed word between us. And if he now wants me back I’d be happy to hear from him!

At the time of the loan deal I always said I didn’t want to leave my club but the situation as it was then meant I had little option, if things have now changed the ball is in Hull’s court and it’s up to them to decide what to do.

I’ve obviously been keeping a close eye on what’s been going on at the club since I left and I think they’re in real danger of slipping into the bottom three. It’s hard to put your finger on exactly what has gone wrong, but a lot of it has been down to luck.

Back in the early weeks of the season when things were going so well all the little things were going for us. Now it doesn’t seem to be the case – look at the header which hit the post against Spurs on Monday night, a few months ago that would have gone in.

It’s also probably true that teams aren’t letting the lads play as much anymore. Again in the early part of the season Hull were a new team and were given a bit of space and time but now sides are in their faces trying to put the lads off their game.

When that sort of thing happens it’s very important that there’s experience in the dressing room making sure everyone remains confident in their own ability. Maybe that’s what Hull are lacking at the moment and maybe that’s what I could bring back to the side.
