Capello highs and lows

Fabio Capello marked four years in charge of England on Sunday.

Here, we look at the highs and lows of Capello's tenure.

March 26, 2008 - Capello suffers his first defeat, a 1-0 reverse by France in Paris, but subsequently claimed it was the day he knew he had a good team. LOW.

September 10, 2008 - The most amazing result of Capello's entire reign against the team responsible for their elimination from Euro 2008. Nineteen-year-old Theo Walcott scores a hat-trick for a rampant England as they beat Croatia 4-1 in Zagreb. HIGH.

November 19, 2008 - A scratch England side beat Germany 2-1 in Berlin to maintain the momentum Capello has generated. HIGH.

February 12, 2009 - England are given a reality check by Euro 2008 winners Spain in Seville. The hosts are too slick for Capello's team, although again, absences could be cited as a reason. LOW.

September 9, 2009 - England secure their place at the World Cup by recording a 5-1 win over Croatia at Wembley. Wayne Rooney is amongst the goalscorers - his last for his country for the entire season. HIGH.

October 10, 2009 - Capello suffers defeat for the first time in a competitive game as England are beaten by the Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk. Robert Green is sent off after just 14 minutes. LOW.

June 20, 2010 - Terry launches a quite staggering attack on team spirit during a routine press conference but subsequently backs down. LOW.

June 21, 2010 - Capello accuses Terry of making ``a very big mistake'' by airing his criticisms in public. LOW.

October 7, 2011 - Needing only a point to qualify for Euro 2012, England race into a 2-0 lead against Montenegro in Podgorica, only to be pegged back. The evening is made worse when Rooney is sent off for kicking an opponent, meaning he faces a suspension from UEFA. LOW
