Arsenal winger Theo Walcott is hoping to maintain his superb start to the season if picked to start England's Euro 2012 qualifier against Bulgaria.
Walcott has bounced back from the disappointment of not making England's World Cup squad with some brilliant early-season performances for Arsenal. He scored a hat-trick in the Gunners' 6-0 win over Blackpool at the Emirates Stadium and netted in the 2-1 win at Blackburn last weekend.
Walcott said: "It has gone very well so far for club and country. I had a very good pre-season, no injuries, and I had a nice break through the summer."
Of his exclusion from the England squad, the Arsenal star added: "I didn't point the finger at anyone. I just looked at myself. It was obviously a disappointment not going, but I don't want to blame anyone except myself. I just want to make sure that it doesn't happen again."
