FT - Anzhi 0-0 Newcastle
There's been moments of skill in the game but so few chances that 0-0 is a fair result. A scoreline that will delight Alan Pardew as the Magpies become the first team to prevent Anzhi from a victory on home soil this season in Europe. The teams face each other again next Thursday and the Newcastle boss will fancy the chances of his side progressing.
Now all eyes are on White Hart Lane. And a guarantee of goals, surely?
SUB - ANZHI (Andrei Yeschenko off / Arseni Logashov on)
Full-back Yeschenko is off after an energetic display. The fourth official shows three minutes on the board.
SHOT - Eto'o
A feeble effort comes from Samuel Eto'o as he runs at Steven Taylor in an attempt to disprove anyone looking at Newcastle as the more likely team to grab a late goal.
The last 10 minutes has definitely seen the away side dominating. Can they fashion a late chance?
SUB - NEWCASTLE (Yohan Cabaye off / Cheick Tiote on)
Cheick Tiote arrives and inherits the captain's armband.
Anzhi also make a swap, with Mehdi Carcela-Gonazalez being introduced to the game.
Gabriel Obertan gets free behind Anzhi's backline but his cross can't find a fellow forward. Newcastle know a chance could come for a precious away goal.
Fabio Capello, now in charge of the Russian national team, is watching on.
SHOT - Samuel Eto'o
Eto'o drives a free kick at goal from 25 yards at least but misses the target. It doesn't even earn a replay.
Hatem Ben Arfa chips the ball straight at the keeper.
A goal has arrived. But, sadly, not in this game. It's Steaua Bucharest who are celebrating after Rusescu scores a penalty against Chelsea.
SUB - NEWCASTLE (Vernon Anita off / Steven Taylor on)
The arrival of the centre back puts James Perch into the midfield in place of Anita.
