Villas-Boas frustrated by disallowed goals

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas told ITV he was frustrated to not win against Lazio on Thursday night.

"I think we had enough of the football to get the win today. I am extremely happy with the performance.

"To two goals which were clean goals disallowed by the ref is disappointing."

Villas-Boas also praised one of his young defenders who impressed many with his performance.

"Steve Caulker was amazing at centre back, against one of the best strikers in the world."

Spurs pair feel hard done by after disallowed goals

Tottenham's Clint Dempsey and Steven Caulker, both victims of arguably overzealous refereeing after having goals disallowed against Lazio, were philosophical after their goalless draw in North London.

"I thought I was level with the line," Dempsey told ITV's Ned Boulting about his goal. "That's the way it goes sometimes."

And team-mate Caulker agreed, saying: "I thought it was a little harsh."

Overall, however, Caulker admitted he was satisfied with a point against the Italian side.

"We're glad to keep the clean sheet and we'll move forward in the next game," the defender added.
