AVB: Carroll's contribution is pleasing
Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas said Panathinaikos gave his side a bit of a scare before Jermain Defoe's goal eventually sealed a 3-1 win at White Hart Lane and progress to the Europa League Round of 32.
"In the end we felt a bit of anxiety but in the end we got the result which was fair," Villas-Boas told ITV's Ned Boulting.
And the Tottenham manager singled out young Tom Carroll for special praise.
"It's hard when there's so much competition but they are doing extremely well, and Tom Carroll is an example of that," Villas-Boas said.
Defoe and Adebayor find common language
Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor are revelling in their blossoming relationship up front for Tottenham following their win over Panathinaikos.
"Jermain's a great player, we're getting to know each other," Adebayor told ITV's Ned Boulting.
"When you're playing with good players they're always going to create chances for you to score," Defoe added.
