Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson felt his side were hard done by after their FA Cup hopes were ended by Dirk Kuyt's late goal at Anfield.
"I don't know how we lost it, it was a really good performance by us," Sir Alex told Gabriel Clarke. "It was a bad blow because we didn't deserve that."
Asked whether he was disappointed with the way United conceded the two goals, the Scotsman responded: "We didn't do well - too many defenders around the goalkeeper for the first one, and the second one was one of those lucky breaks that you get."
"But we didn't deserve to be beaten at all - we probably deserved to win. But that's FA Cup football I'm afraid."
