Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish said both sets of fans were "magnificently well behaved", as his side defeated Manchester United in a tempestuous Cup tie at Anfield.
"I think both sets of supporters were magnificently well behaved and were a credit to their respective clubs," Dalglish told ITV's Gabriel Clarke, after a match in which Patrice Evra's every touch was booed by the Anfield crowd.
"There's always a bit of banter between the two clubs, and that's the way it should be," Dalglish said.
Aside from the controversy surrounding Evra, who came under flak all afternoon after his involvement in the racism allegations which led to the suspension of Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, Dalglish also spoke of his pride in the performances of his side.
"That was a magnificent effort from them after the game on Wednesday," he said. "They showed tremendous commitment and great heart."
