Group A

Cameroon finished four points clear of Gabon to seal their place in a record sixth finals but it was far from easy for the Indomitable Lions.

When former Rangers boss Paul Le Guen took over at the start of 2009, Cameroon were bottom of the table and going out.

But four straight wins, including back-to-back wins over nearest rivals Gabo sealed their qualification.

Group B

Nigeria pipped Tunisia at the top of the group after a dramatic final round.

Going into the last games, Tunisia topped the group knowing a draw in Mozambique would be good enough to see them through.

But a shock defeat and Nigeria's comeback win in Kenya was enough to see the Super Eagles through.

Group C

Algeria qualified for their first finals since 1986 after beating bitter rivals Egypt in a winner-takes-all sudden-death play-off in Sudan.

The teams had finished level in the group after the Egyptians claimed a dramatic 2-0 victory over their neighbours in the final group game.

Group D

There were no such problems for Ghana who cruised through to their second finals.

The Black Stars, led by Chelsea's Michael Essien, were unbeaten in their opening four games and sealed their place in South Africa with a 2-0 win over Sudan in September.

Group E

Another Blues player going to the finals is Didier Drogba who helped the Ivory Coast through.

The Elephants went through their group unbeaten and as Africa's top ranked team, will be ones to watch in South Africa.
