Aldershot's unlucky thirteen

Thirteen Aldershot players have been made redundant, joint administrators Quantuma Restructuring have confirmed.

The identities of the players affected have not been released although it is understood the majority, including striker Danny Hylton, were due to be out of contract in the summer.

Manager Andy Scott remains at the EBB Stadium, as Aldershot look for a new buyer having been placed in administration at the start of this month, just five days after being relegated from the Football League.

Stanley give Beattie the job

James Beattie has been appointed as Accrington's first-team manager with immediate effect.

Stanley have been without a manager since Leam Richardson left to join former boss Paul Cook at Chesterfield at the end of April.

Former Southampton, Everton and Stoke striker Beattie, who joined the club as a player in November, will be officially unveiled at a press conference on Tuesday morning.

Bradford beat Burton to set up Wembley play-off date

Bradford City will return to Wembley later this month after overturning a first-leg deficit to beat Burton in the League Two play-off semi-finals.

The Capital One Cup finalists, 3-2 down from Thursday's game at Valley Parade, recorded their first ever win at the Pirelli Stadium.
