Managerless Preston have signed Wolves defender Neill Collins on a permanent deal following his four-month loan spell at Deepdale.

The Scottish centre-half, 26, has penned a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Lilywhites and is relishing the prospect of what lies ahead for the club after Alan Irvine`s shock sacking last week.

He said: "It's exciting times for the club right now, obviously last week was a tough week with the manager leaving. But now we have got to look forward to the future, I am certainly delighted with the first few months I have been at the club."

He added: "This is a great club with a great stadium, great fans and a good bunch of players and obviously we look forward to the challenge of a new manager coming in as well."

The former Sunderland defender has made 17 starts since being snapped up on an emergency loan at the start of September.
