Bristol City defender Liam Fontaine suffered no reaction to an ankle injury after coming through 90 minutes of a reserve-team clash with Reading on Tuesday night.

The centre-half was an unused substitute in the Robins' draw at Nottingham Forest on Saturday and returned to action against the Royals for the first time since suffering ankle ligament damage at Derby on September 26. City's second string came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Reading's reserves, with David Clarkson and Marlon Jackson on target for City.

Robins boss Gary Johnson told the club's official website: "Fonts was on the bench at Forest on Saturday so he was always like to be okay with regards to his ankle. However, he needed the game time under his belt and completed 90 minutes without any issues."
