Liverpool face a must-win game against Debrecen in Budapest on Tuesday as they look to keep alive their slim hopes of Champions League progression. Here we assess where the match might be won and lost.
Daniel Agger v Adamo Coulibaly
Agger is expected to play despite needing five stitches in a head wound following the weekend game against Manchester City.
French striker Coulibaly - Debrecen's top scorer this term - did pretty well as a lone front man in the first match between these sides back in September.
And the 28-year-old can produce on the big stage, having scored against Fiorentina in the Hungarians' 5-2 defeat at Fiorentina earlier this month.
Liverpool must keep a clean sheet to give themselves confidence, and Agger will be expected to keep Debrecen's forwards quiet.
Steven Gerrard v Zoltan Kiss
This is the clash of the captains. Despite still not being fully fit after his groin problems, Gerrard will be the player Liverpool will look to now.
Kiss, 30, has plenty of experience and did not look out of his depth when Liverpool struggled to a 1-0 win in the group's opening match.
Gerrard looked much more like his usual self against Manchester City until he tired. He had a roving role, with plenty of attacking out wide. If Liverpool are to survive in the Champions League, their skipper will be the key.
Yossi Benayoun v Laszlo Bodnar
With Ryan Babel ruled out, Benayoun will be the man entrusted with providing width and the attacking impetus from the left wing.
Right-back Bodnar, who has experience of losing to Liverpool from his time with Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League back in 2001, will find himself facing arguably Liverpool's best player over recent weeks.
Benayoun likes to cut in off his line, and that could expose Bodnar, who may well find Gerrard drifting out wide too.
