David Rainey equalised in the 90th minute to give 10-man Crusaders a 1-1 draw against Rabotnicki in the first leg of their Europa League second qualifying round tie in Lurgan.
The Macedonians looked set to take a lead into their home leg when Bobi Bozinovski netted the opener at the start of the second half but Rainey struck in the closing moments after Martin Donnelly had missed a penalty.
There was little action of note in a cagey first half at Mourneview Park, Crusaders going close on a couple of occasions through Chris Morrow while Bozinovski looked the liveliest threat for Rabotnicki.
And it was Bozinovski who made the breakthrough two minutes into the second half as the Macedonians went in front.
Things got worse for the Irishmen in the 66th minute when Colin Coates was shown a straight red card.
But the numbers were evened up three minutes from time as Rabotnicki goalkeeper Kristijan Naumovski was also dismissed.
Donnelly could not find the net from the ensuing spot-kick but Rainey made amends by snaffling a valuable equaliser.
