Sir Alex Ferguson accused the Bayern Munich players of getting Rafael sent off during Man Utd's 3-2 victory over the Germans, which saw the Red Devils crash out of Europe on away goals.
Rafael was given his marching orders a few minutes into the second half, receiving a second yellow card for holding back Franck Ribery.
Ferguson insisted that the better side over the two legs lost, although he did concede that Arjen Robben's crucial late goal was worthy of winning any tie.
