Coyle: Cahill will 'outgrow' Bolton

Bolton manager Owen Coyle hopes to retain Gary Cahill's services at least until the end of the season.

However Coyle feels there will come a time when the Trotters will be unable to turn down the cash on offer for the central defender after his debut for England. Even though Cahill was back on the bench on Tuesday night in the victory against Switzerland in a Euro 2012 qualifier, Coyle says the player's stock is rising.

He told the Bolton News: "There will come a day, and I hope it doesn't come in January, that Gary Cahill will probably outgrow the club, given the finance involved in it."

He added: "I firmly believe that he could play for any of the top four clubs. And if that day comes then Gary would go with our blessing because he's been a terrific servant.

"There is no doubt about his quality and consistency. He is different class when he does the simple things well and I think he will go on to have a fantastic international career."
