Norwich boss Paul Lambert insisted his side's professionalism came to the fore as they cruised into the second round thanks to four-goal hero Chris Martin against non-league Paulton.
Martin's heroics took his tally for the season to nine with a double from Grant Holt and a stunning strike from Wes Hoolahan completing the rout.
Lambert said: ``As I said the TV came here because they thought something could happen. But I thought the lads were great."
He added: ``Paulton have earned the right to play us, they've done tremendously well to get this far. So to come here and get an early goal was pleasing.
``I was never going to chop and change as people might have thought - my job depends on it so I picked the strongest team I thought could win the game.
``Chris (Martin) and Grant (Holt) have been terrific. They're a partnership at the moment but the team have been doing well and that's pleasing.''
Rovers boss Andy Jones was pleased with the effort of his side but was left to bemoan the first-half defending.
``The first goal was a great goal for them but the second two before the break we were a bit disappointed with,'' said Jones.
``When you are coming out from the box you have to make sure you have a man with you and we didn't do that in the first half which was disappointing.
``In the second half I always knew it was going to be hard work because they are a professional team who train every day and we don't.
``Norwich are a very good side but I thought the lads worked really hard in the second half and did well.''
