Chelsea duo Frank Lampard and John Terry were delighted to bounce back from last week's loss to Manchester City by sealing a place in the FA Cup semi-finals.

Carlo Ancelotti's side were beaten 4-2 by City at Stamford Bridge eight days ago, but saw off Stoke 2-0 to keep their cup defence on track.

"It's never easy after a defeat like last week, we didn't play to our standards but came back determined to put it right," said Lampard, who scored the first goal.

"It was a difficult game and we handled it very well.

"Wembley is a great day out for the fans, we hold the trophy at the minute and we want to get back there."

Fellow goalscorer Terry thanked the club for their support following the recent problems in his private life, adding on ITV1: "Chelsea have been very supportive but the main thing was coming back from a disappointing performance today.

"We wanted to show the fans how much it meant to us.

"We had a couple of days to work on their set plays but they can play as well. On a dodgy pitch I thought we played well and bounced back from last week."
