Huddersfield v Dag & Red

Novak back for Terriers

Huddersfield expect striker Lee Novak to overcome a shoulder injury in time for Friday's first-round FA Cup clash with Dagenham & Redbridge.

Novak sustained the injury in Sunday's win at Oldham, but a scan has since revealed no serious damage and manager Lee Clark hopes to include the 21-year-old in his squad.

But Town will be without fellow striker Robbie Simpson, who faces an extended spell on the sidelines after being diagnosed with a torn thigh muscle.

Midfielder Anthony Pilkington returned to full training earlier in the week after taking a knock at Oldham and will also be included.

Manager Clark has no other new injury or suspension problems as his side, knocked out by Port Vale in round one last season, hope to emulate their run to the fifth round in 2008 when they lost 3-1 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Dagenham & Redbridge manager John Still has been boosted by the availability of Matt Lockwood for the trip.

Left-back Lockwood made his debut on-loan from Colchester last weekend and the League One side have given him permission to play in the competition.

Scott Doe will continue at right-back as Abu Ogogo misses the second game of his three-match suspension, while midfielder Danny Spiller remains sidelined.

Spiller has missed the last three games with a hamstring strain and is not fit to face the Terriers.

Anwar Uddin has returned from a two-month loan at Grays Athletic and could be on the bench as the Daggers look for victory in the first-ever meeting between the two sides.
