Us trim squad ahead of Glovers meeting

Oxford have released defender Shane Killock and winger Alex Rhodes ahead of their FA Cup first round tie against Yeovil.

Manager Chris Wilder has also agreed to let wing-back Chris Carruthers extend his loan at Blue Square Premier rivals York, so he too will be out of contention to face the Glovers.

Striker Jamie Cook was left out of the starting line-up against Altrincham last weekend, but he will be hoping for a recall and will compete with Jack Midson for a place alongside leading scorer James Constable up front.

Winger Sam Deering will also be hoping for a recall after impressing in recent substitute performances. The talented youngster has not started a game for Oxford since breaking his leg last season.

Yeovil's trio of loanees from Tottenham have been given the go-ahead to play in the match.

Central defender Steven Caulker, attacking midfielder Ryan Mason and striker Jon Obika all started last week's 4-0 League One defeat at Leeds and are set to feature again at the Kassam Stadium.

Swansea's Wales Under-21 international midfielder Shaun MacDonald, who is also on loan at Huish Park and started at Elland Road last weekend, is another to have been given permission to play for Terry Skiverton's side.

But the Glovers will be without suspended midfielder Jean-Paul Kalala, who received his fifth caution of the season at Leeds.
