Stanton still sidelined for Luton tie

Rochdale boss Keith Hill will again be without defender Nathan Stanton for the home clash with Luton in the FA Cup first-round replay.

Stanton will serve the second game of a four-match ban after missing the 3-3 draw against the Hatters on Saturday.

Midfielder Ciaran Toner has returned to training following a spell on the sidelines with shin splints but he is not yet ready for a first-team return.

Goalkeeper Kenny Arthur is doubtful with a back injury and defender Scott Wiseman could also miss out due to a thigh strain.

Hill will assess both players closer to kick-off as Dale seek to overcome their Blue Square Premier opponents and book a second-round trip to Rotherham on the weekend of November 28.

Luton welcome back skipper Kevin Nicholls.

Former Leeds and Preston midfielder Nicholls has recovered from a hip injury and is added to the squad which drew with Dale on Saturday.

Defender Ed Asafu-Adjaye also comes into the reckoning for a start after being left on the bench at the weekend due to illness.

Boss Richard Money has a doubt over Steve Basham, who scored twice at the weekend but is struggling with a calf injury that threatened to rule him out of Saturday's game.

Money will also assess the fitness of Mark Tyler (back) and Keith Keane (groin), while Freddie Murray will definitely miss out after picking up his fifth booking of the season at the weekend, meaning he will serve a one-match ban.

Liam Hatch (ankle) is a long-term absentee and Lewis Emanuel (broken toe) is also sidelined.
