Torquay v Cheltenham

Bevan back for Torquay

Goalkeeper Scott Bevan is set to return to the starting line-up for Torquay in their FA Cup first round clash at home to Cheltenham.

Bevan will be recalled as Southampton do not want on-loan goalkeeper Michael Poke to be cup-tied.

However, League One Saints have given winger Jake Thomson the green light to play against the Robins.

And United boss Paul Buckle has no doubts that Bevan will step up to the plate.

He said: "We need to prepare for the cup tie knowing who will be in goal. Scott Bevan is fit, available and he is a very good goalkeeper in his own right."

Lee Ridley returns for Cheltenham after a frustrating time with injury.

The left-back made his first return from a troublesome calf injury in the home defeat to Macclesfield back in mid-October but lasted just 11 minutes before being forced off with a recurrence of the problem.

But having again returned to full training he will be hoping for a more successful comeback this time around at Plainmoor.

On-loan duo Frankie Artus and Tom Denton have been granted permission to feature by parent clubs Bristol City and Huddersfield respectively.

Caretaker manager John Schofield had hoped to tie up further deals for one or two new faces before the game, but a decision over the return of West Ham defender Holmar Eyjolfsson will now be made after the forthcoming international break.

Midfielder Oliver Bozanic (knee) is still in light training with a view to resuming full training in around 10 days, while captain Shane Duff (Achilles) is out until early next year.
