
Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan will face his former club Chelsea in the Champions League last 16.
Here we look at Mourinho's Chelsea career:
HIGH - Appointed manager of Chelsea in 2004 having led Porto to Champions League glory. Announces himself at his introductory press conference as "a special one".
LOW - Fined £5,000 by the Football Association after comments made after the first leg of the Carling Cup semi-final against Manchester United in January 2005.
LOW - A Sunday newspaper reports in January 2005 that Mourinho, Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon and Arsenal's Ashley Cole had a meeting in the Royal Park Hotel at Lancaster Gate - constituting an illegal approach. Mourinho is found in breach of Premier League Rule Q, and is fined £200,000, later reduced to £75,000 on appeal.
LOW - Following a 2-1 defeat at Barcelona - in which Didier Drogba is sent off - Mourinho claims Barca manager Frank Rijkaard went into referee Anders Frisk's dressing room at half-time. UEFA later charge Mourinho, assistant boss Steve Clarke and security official Les Miles with making "wrong and unfounded" statements about the alleged meeting between Frisk and Rijkaard. Mourinho is handed a two-match touchline ban and fined 20,000 Swiss francs (around £9,000) by UEFA's control and disciplinary body. Chelsea are fined 75,000 Swiss francs (£33,000).
HIGH/LOW - Chelsea win their first trophy under Mourinho, the Carling Cup, with 3-2 win over Liverpool in 2005. Mourinho is nevertheless involved in more controversy, having wandered along the touchline in front of the Liverpool fans putting his fingers to his lips. He is later "reminded of his responsibilities" by the FA.
HIGH - Chelsea seal 2004/05 Premiership title with 2-0 win at Bolton.
HIGH - Agrees a new five-year contract.
HIGH - Chelsea seal second consecutive Premier League title with a 3-0 win over Manchester United.
LOW - Rumours Mourinho could leave Chelsea in the summer surface after he accuses the board of refusing to back him in the January 2007 transfer window.
HIGH - Chelsea win a second Carling Cup under Mourinho, beating Arsenal 2-1 at the Millennium Stadium.
HIGH - Chelsea secure a 2007 FA Cup final meeting with Manchester United with a 2-1 extra-time win over Blackburn. Mourinho shares a hug with owner Roman Abramovich, raising suggestions of a warming in relations between the pair.
LOW - Chelsea lose 2007 Champions League semi-final to Liverpool on penalties, and Manchester United wrest the Barclays Premier League crown from Stamford Bridge.
HIGH - Chelsea gain some revenge with an extra-time win over United in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
HIGH - Chelsea set a new record of 64 unbeaten home matches in the English top flight with a win over Birmingham.
LOW - Chelsea follow up an uninspiring home draw with Blackburn with a lacklustre 1-1 stalemate with Rosenborg in the Champions League, on September 18 2007. Only 24,973 supporters attend, and boos ring out at the final whistle. Mourinho admits: "Of course I am alarmed. I am not happy." He leaves Chelsea by "mutual consent" the next day.
