Wales

Wayne Hennessey - Dealt well with high balls and made an excellent late double save. 8

Samuel Ricketts - Got forward well and had a hand in the first goal. 7

Gareth Bale - Looked vulnerable in the early stages but did well going forward. 6

Lewin Nyatanga - A domineering display from the Bristol City centre-half. 7

Craig Morgan - Allowed Scotland forwards space in the opening stages but rarely troubled afterwards. 6

Ashley Williams - The captain helped Wales control the midfield by sweeping up in front of the back four. 8

Joe Ledley - Good movement and perfect cross set up the second goal. 7

Aaron Ramsey - A virtuoso display from the Arsenal teenager, who set up two goals and scored a brilliant solo effort. His movement across the midfield tore Scotland apart in the 56 minutes he was on. 9

David Edwards - Agile and composed in midfield and showed superb technique to volley home the opener. 8

Ched Evans - Power and direct running caused Scotland defence problems and forced a good save. 7

Simon Church - Perfectly positioned to net his first Wales goal and the Reading youngster`s movement suggested more will follow. 7

Substitutes

Robert Earnshaw - Half-time substitute looked lively but did not get the chance to add to his three goals against Scotland from their last visit to Cardiff. 6

Sam Vokes - Decent performance but did not have as much service as the first-half strikers. 6

Joe Allen - Hard act to follow after replacing Ramsey but kept Wales on top in midfield with some simple passes. 6

Danny Gabbidon - Came on for Nyatanga on the hour mark and enjoyed a physical tussle with Kevin Kyle. 5

Andy King - Given a late run-out. 4

David Cotterill - Late sub showed some good touches and was kicked up in the air by Alan Hutton. 4

Scotland

David Marshall - Not to blame for the goals but fortunate to escape with a yellow card after handling outside his box. 5

Alan Hutton - Failed to get the ball in early enough when he was attacking early on and was then forced back. 5

Stephen McManus - Slack marking allowed Church to score second and turned inside out by Ramsey before the third. 4

Gary Caldwell - Failed to take control in the penalty box as Scotland were put under first-half pressure. 5

Danny Fox - Put in some good crosses but defensively vulnerable. Scotland debut lasted 55 minutes. 5

Graham Dorrans - Did not hurt Wales going forward and lapse of concentration led to second goal. Fortunate not to concede a penalty with clumsy challenge on Church. 4

Darren Fletcher - Skipper made a bright start but was unable to stem the Welsh tide and his poor touch led to the third goal. 5

Don Cowie - Worked hard in midfield but endured an unhappy first Scotland start. 5

Steven Naismith - Struggled to get into the game in midfield or up front. 4

James McFadden - Had little influence playing just off the front and was moved to left wing before making way in the 62nd minute. 5

Kenny Miller - Missed the target from 12 yards in a rare Scotland chance and struggled to get the ball under control. 4

Substitutes

Lee Wallace - Game was beyond Scotland when he replaced Fox but helped make sure it got no worse. 5

Steven Fletcher - Not given much service after coming on in 55th minute. 4

Kevin Kyle - Was desperate to win his first cap since 2004 but must have thought he was back in the Berti Vogts era when he came on in the 62nd minute. Battled in vain but did force good save with late header. 5

Ross McCormack - Forced two saves after replacing Naismith in the 62nd minute. 5

Barry Robson - Surprise omission helped Scotland battle back in the final 15 minutes. 5

Derek Riordan - Again given little time to shine after coming on for final 11 minutes. 4
