Torquay have signed Tottenham`s teenage defender Adam Smith on loan until January.
The England Under-19 international will link up with the Gulls ahead of their home League Two match against Rotherham.
Boss Paul Buckle said: "We have signed a very good young full-back in Adam Smith from Tottenham.
"Adam can play left or right-back and is what we need to cover for Lee Mansell and Kevin Nicholson."
Smith - who has been on trial at Torquay this week - spent a month-long loan spell at League One Wycombe at the start of the season and made his Football League debut at Charlton on the opening day.
