Tevez tipped to hit goal trail

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez is being backed to rediscover his scoring touch by fellow Eastlands forward Emmanuel Adebayor

The Argentina international has struggled to find the target since his high-profile move from Old Trafford in the summer. He had to settle for a place on the bench on Saturday in the draw against Liverpool after scoring only three goals in the Barclays Premier League this season, but impressed during a half hour cameo at Anfield.

Adebayor told www.mcfc.co.uk: "We all know how good Carlos is - he was 100 per cent professional when he came on, fighting for the team in defence, keeping the ball and making it easier for me.

The former Arsenal star added: "People may be asking why he has not scored a lot of goals, but he's one of the best around.

"He's got the desire and we know what a talented player he is, he just needs a bit more confidence to start scoring goals."

City skipper Kolo Toure could face Hull on Saturday despite going off at the weekend. He was forced to miss the second half on Merseyside because of a back problem.

However City's medical team say Toure has made a good recovery and there is not expected to be any lasting problem.

Midfielder Martin Petrov could be back in training by the end of the week after a knee injury while Sylvinho's calf problem has cleared up.
