Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is aware of the threat Wolves will pose to his team in this evening's Anfield clash.
Benitez would love to see Fernando Torres notch his 50th league goal for the Reds in the match - he is currently one short.
However Wolves have won three of their last four matches, beating Bolton, Tottenham and Burnley, and the Reds boss has taken note of their progress.
At a time when Liverpool are finding wins hard to come by, Benitez is hugely respectful of the work being carried out by his Wolves counterpart Mick McCarthy.
Benitez told liverpoolfc.tv: "They work hard and are well organised. It will be a tough game. Winning at Tottenham means they can do very well away from home so we will have to be careful.
"I think Mick McCarthy is doing a really good job. They have a very good team spirit and I think they will be battling until the end.
"We have watched their game against Burnley and they did well so we have to do our job properly."
It should be a memorable afternoon for Torres if he brings up his half-century, and Benitez said: "I think it will be very important for Fernando to get it at Anfield and hopefully it will be the winning goal for us."
Benitez is closely monitoring the fitness of key men Torres and Steven Gerrard, who have both had groin injuries which have restricted their involvement this season.
Benitez has rejected reports that the Spanish football federation - RFEF - want Torres to undergo surgery.
He said: "I have a very good relationship with the Spanish FA staff. There has been no contact."
Liverpool have won just four of their last 17 games, and have fallen so far that Birmingham are ahead of them as the halfway point of the Barclays Premier League season arrives.
Benitez has held talks with several players - Torres and Gerrard included - to try to prompt an upturn in form ahead of today's clash against Wolves and the trip to Aston Villa on Tuesday.
Liverpool will be without suspended midfielder Javier Mascherano this evening but Benitez knows his team remain well capable of beating their visitors.
He said: "I have spoken to several players, not just Gerrard and Torres. They are all determined to do well, but when we concede a goal now we lose any confidence that we have acquired.
"That is my responsibility, to improve confidence. To do that I have to be positive, it is the only way. The message is very clear, we have quality in our squad and we must show that.
"We can win a run of games in a row, we have done that with these same players. That is the positive thought we must retain."
