Sochaux president Alexandre Lacombe has reaffirmed his interest in Rangers striker Kris Boyd and believes a deal can be done to bring the Scotsman to France.
Boyd smashed Henrik Larsson's Scottish Premier League scoring record earlier this week with five goals in a 7-1 win over Dundee United at Ibrox taking his tally to 160.
The 26-year-old is out of contract this summer and Rangers could accept an offer this month rather than risk losing him for nothing and Lacombe told L'Equipe: "He would really love to come to France. A transfer in January is foreseeable and his salary is not prohibitive."
He added: "Moreover, he will be at the the end of his contract in June."
Sochaux are 15th in the Ligue 1 standings albeit with two games in hand on the majority of their rivals.
