Falkirk have seven players missing for the Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash with Hamilton but new signing Pedro Pele will be on the bench.
Alex MacDonald (groin), Sean Lynch (hamstring) and Mark Stewart (stomach) have been added to the injury list.
They join Jackie McNamara, Kjartan Finnbogason (both knee), Burton O'Brien (hernia) and Tam Scobbie (pelvis).
Falkirk face going seven points behind nearest rivals Hamilton but defender Chris Mitchell is confident they have the "fighting spirit" to cope.
Falkirk are still looking for their first Clydesdale Bank Premier League win as they prepare to play Hamilton for the second time.
But they got an impressive point against Celtic in their most recent game and Mitchell believes the spirit shown in that 3-3 draw can carry them up the table.
"Folk expected us to lose against Celtic but we came out showing we had fight and scored three goals and took a point," the Scotland Under-21 full-back said.
"That might have felt like a win but we came off the park disheartened because we didn't win.
"At the weekend against Hamilton we need to show the same fight that we did against Celtic and get the win, and show teams we're in a fight and we're not going to give up."
Falkirk manager Eddie May agrees that his players have to show togetherness the prove the doubters wrong.
"All the games are important but some games come along that give you an opportunity to get back into it and achieve where we want to be," he said.
"We're looking for the boys to perform against a Hamilton team that will be very determined to say `if we beat them them that's down'.
"There is a long way to go and we'll stick together."
May was encouraged by the goalscoring performance of Pedro Moutinho on his return to the club against Celtic.
"Pedro played very, very well last Sunday," May said. "We have to encourage him to do that every week.
"With Pedro playing that way week in, week out, we'll be far better in the forward areas."
Meanwhile, the club reported their pitch to be in "excellent condition" on Friday evening despite several roads being closed in the region because of heavy flooding.
However, May admits the return of rain could cause a postponement.
"The pitch was unplayable on Thursday," he said. "If there is no rain we should be fine. But if it suddenly rains again, the game will be in major doubt.
Hamilton manager Billy Reid has no fresh injury worries but he will be without the suspended Guillaume Beuzelin.
Alex Neil will be in the squad after completing 45 minutes of a reserves match earlier in the week.
The Accies skipper has yet to feature in a first team game this season after undergoing hip surgery in the summer.
Long-term casualties Derek Lyle and James Gibson both remain on the sidelines.
Reid insists he has no fears about Hamilton becoming the first team to succumb to Falkirk this season.
He knows the Bairns will be desperate to pick up their first victory in the league this term and will view the match with nearest rivals Accies as the perfect opportunity.
A win for Eddie May's men would also allow them to haul themselves to within a point of Hamilton but Reid says he has every confidence in his own players to come out on top.
He said: "If they beat us it's because they deserve to beat us. But we don't go there with any fears.
"That's no disrespect to them and we will give them the respect they deserve. But I believe I have the players who can win the game if we play to our potential.
"Everybody's got this game down as a relegation battle but I'm not looking at that at all.
"We are in a wee pack and there is not a lot between the teams.
"If we win the game, we go seven points clear of the team at the bottom. And, if Falkirk win, there is only a point difference and they are back in the pack again.
"So it is a big game but, for me, it's no different to any other game."
Falkirk have spent most of the campaign so far propping up the rest of the top flight and, when asked if their position is a true reflection of their efforts, Reid added: "It's not for me to say where anybody deserves to be.
"You're there because of the amount of points you have picked up.
"I think we would all say we should have more points on the board, every manager in the SPL would tell you that.
"They are there because that's the points they have picked up."
