Sol Bamba returns to the Hibernian squad for Wednesday's Clydesdale Bank Premier League game against Aberdeen.
Manager John Hughes allowed the Ivory Coast defender to sit out Saturday's Active Nation Scottish Cup fifth-round win over Montrose after admitting rushing him back from African Nations Cup duty.
Hibs have no injury concerns, though Hughes may decide to keep full-back Darren McCormack out of the spotlight after he was charged with a driving offence at the weekend.
Graeme Smith insists a Scotland recall is the furthest thing from his mind, despite giving himself every chance with his performances for Hibernian.
The uncapped Smith 26, has not been in a senior Scotland squad for three-and-a-half years, having received his last call-up for the European Championship qualifiers against the Faroe Islands and Lithuania in September 2006.
The keeper did play in a B international against the Republic of Ireland in November 2007 but was ignored for the whole of George Burley's time in charge.
New manager Craig Levein has already hinted he will name a large squad for his first game in charge against Czech Republic next month.
But while Smith would love to be involved, he refuses to look that far ahead, saying: "My only focus is Hibs just now to be honest.
"Every player wants to represent their country and I'm no different.
"If you're doing well for this club then I think other things may fall.
"But just now I want to hold down my place week in, week out and see where it takes me."
Smith's next chance to impress comes in the clash with Aberdeen, which could see Hibs leapfrog Celtic into second place in the table if results go their way.
Smith said: "It doesn't matter where you are just now; it matters where you are at the end of the season, and we want to be as high up as possible.
"Whatever has happened during the season is out of the window now.
"From today onwards, it's going to make our season a good season or an average one."
Wednesday's game reunites Smith with former manager Mark McGhee and assistant Scott Leitch, with all three men leaving Motherwell for pastures new last summer.
"I know the staff up there very well and they're very clever and astute," Smith, who left Fir Park to join Brighton in July, said of the Dons management duo.
"I know they'll be getting the best out of the players so we're going to have to be at our best to beat them."
Peter Pawlett will miss the out for Aberdeen after a recurrence of his knee injury.
The midfielder will see a specialist after the problem flared up following his substitute appearance in the Scottish Cup draw against Raith Rovers.
However, Sone Aluko and Zander Diamond are pushing for a start and Andrew Considine (hip) is the only other absentee.
McGhee has urged Aberdeen fans to give the team "a break" and back the team "blindly" until his long-term vision has a chance to come to fruition.
The Dons were booed by their supporters on Saturday, when Gary McDonald's 95th-minute goal earned them an Active Nation Scottish Cup replay against Raith Rovers.
The Dons had lost their previous two Clydesdale Bank Premier League games, at home to Motherwell and Falkirk, to leave them 15 points behind third-placed Hibs.
But McGhee insists he and his players deserve more support.
"The players here do receive more abuse from fans than at other clubs," he said.
"As a player myself, I would want to challenge that and prove them wrong.
"But we live in different times and different players take different attitudes. Some might think, `To hell with this, I'm not taking this any more'.
"But you have got people like Darren Mackie, who has suffered as much, if not more, abuse than any other player. But on Saturday, I was getting abuse for taking him off.
"I think it's a case of me being prepared to challenge them and say, `Come on, we need more help than that'. We need them to believe a bit more."
