The search is on for Fabio Capello's replacement after he quit as manager of the England football squad over former captain John Terry last night.
Capello left his flat in West London on Thursday morning greeted by a swarm of photographers as the Football Association finds a replacement.
Harry Redknapp is hotly tipped to take over following Capello's shock resignation a day after publicly challenging the FA's decision to strip John Terry of the England captaincy.
FA bosses are under pressure to make a swift appointment with Euro 2012 beginning in four months and will hold a press conference at noon today.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Redknkapp - who was cleared of tax evasion hours before Capello quit - has yet to say whether he'd take the job.
Capello's resignation was announced after crisis talks with FA Chairman David Bernstein and General Secretary Alex Horne at Wembley.
He'd been angry that the board went above his head to strip Terry of the captaincy until after his July court case where he goes on trial for racially abusing Queens Park Rangers player Anton Ferdinand - a charge which he denies.
Before the meeting, Capello went on Italian TV saying he "absolutely" disagreed with the FA's punishment.
