Read the full storyAnzhi coach Guus Hiddink said his side's huge workload is the reason star striker Samuel Eto'o has flattered to deceive in two Europa League matches against Liverpool.
Asked by ITV's Peter Drury why Eto'o is no longer playing as an out-and-out striker, Hiddink explained: "We are in Europe and in the Russian Cup, which means from 1 July we're playing a game every three or four days.
"We're the team with the most air miles in Europe! So I must be a little bit prudent and cautious with Eto'o," Hiddink added.
Meanwhile the Dutchman said he was happy with Anzhi's 1-0 win over Brendan Rodgers' side in Moscow, but would have liked a more comfortable scoreline.
"It was a good result for us," he said, before adding: "Unfortunately in the second half we didn't finish it off."
