France international Antoine Griezmann has officially joined Atletico Madrid after signing a six-year contract with the Spanish champions.

Atletico and Real Sociedad announced on Monday that they had agreed a deal for the 23-year-old, believed to be worth around 30million euros (£24m), and the forward completed the move on Tuesday following a successful medical.

Benitez: Napoli will not sell Callejon

Napoli coach Rafael Benitez has rubbished speculation that Jose Callejon could join Atletico Madrid this summer by insisting there is "no chance" the Italian club would sell the forward.

Primera Division champions Atletico were among the clubs reported to be chasing the 27-year-old, who enjoyed a stellar first season in Serie A last term and scored 20 goals in all competitions following a 10million euro (£8m) move from Real Madrid.

Reports that Callejon wanted to seek a return to the Spanish capital grew after Benitez removed the player from a training session on Sunday, but the former Chelsea and Liverpool boss has denied a rift between himself and his fellow Spaniard.

It was very simple, he was training without intensity, but there was no problem.

I wanted to bring him here, he scored 20 goals and I would have liked to have seen him called up to the Spanish team.

The coach hinted that Atletico had expressed interest in signing Callejon, but revealed Napoli had turned down their offers.

A team made us several large offers for him but we rejected them, we don't want to sell him and there is no chance we will.

Atletico Madrid have agreed a deal to sign winger Antoine Griezmann from Real Sociedad.

The 23-year-old was linked with a big-money move to a host of clubs but Primera Division champions Atletico have won the race for the France international.

Atletico announced on their official website: "Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad have reached an agreement for the transfer of Antoine Griezmann.

"The young French footballer will sign a contract with our teams once he passes his medical."

Neither club has confirmed the transfer fee but reports in Spain suggest Atletico have met the 30million euro (£24million) buy-out clause in Griezmann's contract.

Garcia would welcome Torres return

Atletico Madrid midfielder Raul Garcia says Fernando Torres would be welcomed back to the Primera Division champions with open arms if he opts to leave Chelsea, while also playing down speculation that centre-back Miranda will be the next Rojiblancos player to up sticks to Stamford Bridge.

Torres has been linked with a summer move back to Atletico, where the Spain international came up through the ranks to captain the first team before moving to Liverpool in 2007.

I speak to him (Torres) a lot and he still feels very strongly about this club.

His life has been defined by what he experienced here and he is another option just like any other that the media have mentioned. Any great player that can come here will be welcome.

Callejon happy in Naples

Napoli forward Jose Callejon has revealed the club turned down a big money offer for his services from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid this summer - and is pleased they did.

My agent told me about it.

I was glad (the bid was rejected) because I really want to play in this shirt and have another four years on my contract. I feel good here, I feel the affection of the people.

In football, never say never, but with (Napoli boss Rafael) Benitez I have my freedom and I do not want to give it up.

– Jose Callejon speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport
