Ince rejects Inter to stay in England

Blackpool winger Tom Ince has rejected a move to Inter Milan and confirmed he intends to play in England next season.

The 22-year-old England Under-21 winger looked set to follow in father Paul's footsteps and play at the San Siro next term, having met club officials last month.

But Ince has confirmed he will not be playing abroad in 2014/15.

"I am flattered to have received such strong interest from several big European clubs," he was quoted as saying on the Daily Mail's website.

"But I believe at this early stage of my career I need to continue my football education in England.

"I still have ambitions to one day play in Europe.

"I am now looking forward to what lies ahead next season."

As Ince is under 23 Blackpool will be due compensation when he makes his next move.

Vital win for Blackpool

Blackpool earned a priceless victory in their fight against the drop as they shocked play-off chasing Wigan 2-0 in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Latics could have booked their place in the top six with a victory, but Uwe Rosler's men were below-par across the board and squandered an excellent opportunity to take the lead when Martyn Waghorn saw his penalty saved midway through the first half.

Goals after half-time from Andy Keogh and Stephen Dobbie sealed victory for the visitors, who completed a double over their Lancashire rivals.

Blackpool have taken former USA international and wonderkid Freddy Adu on trial, with the attacker playing in a behind-closed-doors friendly for the side on Wednesday.

Tangerines boss Barry Ferguson watched the attacker play 45 minutes in a 6-2 win over the club's youth team and is expected to make a decision on whether to sign him at the end of the week.
