Parkinson pens new Bradford contract

Bradford manager Phil Parkinson and his staff have signed new three-year deals with the Bantams.

The former Charlton boss, who led his side to a League Two play-off win over Northampton on Saturday, joins assistant manager Steve Parkin and fitness coach Nick Allamby in putting pen to paper.

On this day 1985: Valley Parade fire claimed the lives of 56 fans

On 11th May 1985, a fire at Valley Parade, home of Bradford City, claimed the lives of 56 people in a match against Lincoln which was supposed to be a celebration of the Bantams' Third Division championship that season.

Bradford City will return to Wembley later this month after overturning a first-leg deficit to beat Burton in the League Two play-off semi-finals.

The Capital One Cup finalists, 3-2 down from Thursday's game at Valley Parade, recorded their first ever win at the Pirelli Stadium.
