Xavi tips 'world class' Forster to join Barcelona

World Cup and Champions League winning midfielder Xavi has tipped Fraser Forster to become Barcelona's next number one.

The Spanish giants are on the look out for a new stopper with Victor Valdes expected to leave in the summer.

I think the players all know about the Forster interest – and it is a player we know very well.

I can’t say that I watch him every week – but when we have played Celtic he has shown that he is a world-class goalkeeper.

From what I have seen he has everything to succeed at a club like Barcelona – and with his Champions League performances for Celtic I am sure there will be more than one big club interested in him.

Brown to appeal punishment

Celtic skipper Scott Brown is set to fly out to Geneva next week to plead his case to UEFA's appeals committee with a view to getting his three-match Champions League ban reduced, according to boss Neil Lenno

It (appeal) is going to be next week at some stage.

I don't know if I am going over but there will be representation from the club and Scott as well.

We would like him there - if he is going to go - to put his point across.

He has a good disciplinary record and I think that should stand him in good stead as well.

– Celtic manager Neil Lennon
