Jose Mourinho denies there is 'hidden racism' in English football clubs

Jose Mourinho claims there is no truth in PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor's suggestion that "hidden racism" is preventing English clubs from appointing more black managers.

Taylor made his comments after urging the football league to adopt a system similar to the 'Rooney Rule,' introduced by the NFL which to ensure black and ethnic minority managerial candidates are fairly represented during the interview process.

But Chelsea boss, Mourinho, believes: "Football is not so stupid to close doors to people.

"If you are good, you get the job. If you are top, you are top."

Diego Costa named in Spain squad

Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has named Diego Costa in his squad for the upcoming European Championship qualifiers while Gerard Pique returns and uncapped duo Rodrigo Moreno and Juan Bernat have also been called up.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho would have preferred to see Costa rested by Spain for the matches against Slovakia and Luxembourg so the in-form striker could receive treatment on his hamstring.

Mourinho: I imagined Costa would be in ESP squad; 3 matches in a week too much, but he's going to #cfc

However, Costa said on Wednesday he had no intention of skipping Spain duty and on Friday he was included in Del Bosque's 23-man squad for next week's qualifying double-header.

Barca defender Pique, meanwhile, has been drafted back in after being omitted for the opening Euro 2016 qualifier against Macedonia while his club-mate Andres Iniesta returns after injury.
