Rumour: James Rodriguez flies to Madrid - to finalise Real Madrid move?

Someone snapped World Cup star James Rodriguez apparently getting on a flight from Medellin in his native Colombia to Madrid (see Tweet below).

What can it mean!? It means Real Madrid could play with a front four of Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo, Golden Boot James and Karim Benzema next season.

Sound a tad cavalier? Well, they would be protected in midfield by World Cup winners Toni Kroos (a new signing of course) and Sami Khedira. Not too shabby.

Colombia guaranteed play-off spot

Colombia moved level on points with leaders Argentina in the South American qualifying section for next summer's World Cup after a hard-fought 1-0 win against Ecuador.

The victory means Colombia are guaranteed at least an intercontinental play-off berth against an Asian nation - a prize for the fifth-place finisher in the nine-team group - with three rounds to go.
