Crewe expect Murphy departure

We have a few inquires about Luke but nothing really concrete. The interest has stepped up from the weekend and perhaps the time has come for him to move on. I don’t know anything more than that.

I think he is more than ready. He has served his apprenticeship with us and is more than good enough. He is ready for a career move and if the right one comes along for him then he would go with our blessing.

I know he will be a success wherever he goes. When clubs start showing a firm interest then it becomes difficult for us to keep them.

– Crewe assistant manager Neil Baker speaking to the club's official website
