Popovic cools Palace talk

Tony Popovic has downplayed speculation linking him to the vacant Crystal Palace post, insisting his former club have not been in contact.

No there's been no conversations with anyone in regards to that and it's not for us to speak about speculation.

If there was something happening we'd certainly speak to you about it.

I'm very fond of that club. I have great memories and history there and many friends I have there.

I wish them the best in whoever they choose as a manager.

Captain Mile Jedinak hopes Crystal Palace will act quickly to find the right man to take the club forwards following the shock departure of manager Tony Pulis.

It is a situation which is a little bit difficult to comprehend at the minute, but it is part and parcel of this game and the job we do.

You see things happen, but it is up to you as a footballer and as a professional to continue on with your job.

What happens is out of your control and something you cannot have an influence on, you just need to get on with it.

We did that and I cannot stress how proud I am of the group.

We all know how important it is to get a manager instated at the football club. For us it would be ideal (to be a quick appointment), but it is not up to us.
