Derby have accepted a bid from Premier League newcomers Cardiff for defender John Brayford.
Brayford is now free to talk to the Welsh club after their offer, believed to be around £2million, was successful.
Derby have verbally agreed a one-year contract with experienced midfielder John Eustace.
Eustace, a former Rams loanee, is a free agent after leaving Watford and he is expected to put pen to paper on the deal this week.
Championship side Derby County have signed winger Johnny Russell from Dundee United for a fee of around £750,000.
Derby County defender Jake Buxton has signed a new two-year contract with the club.
Buxton, who had 12 months remaining on his current deal, will now remain at Pride Park until the summer of 2015, with the option of a further year's extension.
