Doncaster have signed former Manchester United trainee Luke McCullough.

McCullough has been on trial at Rovers since the start of the summer, going on the club's pre-season trip to Portugual, and the defender has now signed a two-year contract with Paul Dickov's Sky Bet Championship newcomers.

Doncaster have appointed former Oldham boss Paul Dickov as their new manager.

Rovers have been searching for a new boss since Brian Flynn opted to return to his post of director of football just days after leading the club to the League One title, with Michael Appleton heavily tipped for the role.


Flynn steps down as Doncaster boss

Brian Flynn has confirmed he will step down as manager of Doncaster following the club's return to the npower Championship, but will return to his previous development role at the South Yorkshire club.

Following the end of the season, Brian Flynn, has approached the club and expressed a desire to return back to what he sees as his passion in the development and recruitment of players.

"In line with this the owners have offered Brian a senior role within the club developing and supporting who ever is to manage the side as it goes into the Championship.

"Brian will be involved in the search for a new manager and new players.

"Brian will go down in history after the dramatic end to the season and the club see Brian as the ideal man to lead the development of Doncaster Rovers.
