Twente wait on Schreuder ruling

FC Twente must wait to see if Alfred Schreuder will be allowed to continue as their interim coach.

Schreuder took charge on a temporary basis following Steve McClaren's departure last month and has overseen defeats to Ajax and Vitesse Arnhem.

His lack of coaching qualifications prompted the Dutch Football Association to investigate and they will rule within the next week on whether he can remain in his post.

Pressure is mounting on FC Twente manager Steve McClaren after his side's terrible run of form continued at the weekend. Without a win since late December, six points behind Eredivisie leaders PSV and out of Europe, Twente were held 1-1 by lowly Willem II on Saturday.

There have been calls by some Twente supporters for McClaren to be replaced. The ex-England boss returned to Twente, where he won the Dutch title in 2010, last January after an unsuccessful spell in charge of Nottingham Forest.
