Raul Meireles scores a delightful bender

Fenerbahce knocked out Salzburg 3-1 to advance in their Champions League qualifier last night when the highlight was this peach from former Liverpool and Chelsea midfielder, Raul Meireles.

The Portuguese international was set up by another former Red, Dirk Kuyt.

Fener bring in Yanal as boss

European exiles Fenerbahce have appointed former Turkey manager Ersun Yanal as their new head coach.

The Istanbul giants parted company with Turkish Cup-winning coach Aykut Kocaman in May, but UEFA has since banned the club from European competition for three seasons - the third season deferred for five years - over match-fixing allegations.
