Mourinho tried to take Lampard to Inter

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that he tried to sign Lampard in 2008 during his first season at Inter Milan before the midfielder signed a contract extension.

It was between the club and him before I arrived.

I tried to take Lampard to Inter. I was trying but at the same time I was saying you belong to Chelsea.

I was not just pulling straight away. I was 'if you want to come, I want you'.

In the end he did what he wanted to do and what I wanted him to do, which was sign a new contract with Chelsea."

The Lega Calcio has fined Inter Milan 15,000 euros and ordered them to close a section of San Siro for their next Serie A home game after their fans were found to have racially abused two Juventus players at the weekend.

Juve's Paul Pogba and Kwadwo Asamoah were reportedly the targets of chants which emanated from the second tier of the 'curva nord' in Saturday's 1-1 draw.

The disciplinary arm of the Lega Calcio also took into consideration Inter fans directing a laser beam towards the referee and Juve players as well as an insulting banner against Bianconeri boss Antonio Conte when delivering their verdict.

It means one end of Inter's home ground will be without spectators when they host Fiorentina on September 26.

Cracking loan move

Inter Milan have signed Chelsea right-back Wallace on a season-long loan, the Serie A side have announced.

The 19-year-old made his senior debut at Fluminense and signed for Chelsea earlier this year before being loaned back to the Brazilian club.

Inter Milan sign Rolando on loan

Inter Milan have today signed Portuguese defender Rolando on a season-long loan from Porto.

The 27-year-old spent six months on loan with Napoli during the 2012-13 Serie A season and he has now decided to follow his former Azzurri coach Walter Mazzarri to San Siro.

Rolando Jorge Pires da Fonseca, better known simply as Rolando, has signed for Inter on loan from Porto.

Born in Cape Verde, the 27-year-old is a naturalised Portuguese citizen. Since beginning his career at Belenenses, he has acquired a wealth of experience at Porto (2008-2013), Napoli and Portugal (U21 and senior teams), and will now further strengthen Walter Mazzarri's defensive options.

Pellegrini wants Italian Inter

Former Inter Milan president Ernesto Pellegrini has urged his successor Massimo Moratti not to sell the club to Indonesian businessman Erick Thohir.

The Indonesian is only interested in business. The club must stay Italian and be restructured, I can help find other entrepreneurs.

I have nothing personal against Thohir, I don't know him and he has an enviable financial position.

However, this situation saddens me because I would hate to see my favourite team end up in the hands of a stranger.

Thohir reveals Inter ambitions

Indonesian businessman Erick Thohir hopes to make Inter Milan "one of the top 10 teams in the world" should he complete a takeover of the Serie A club.

I don't know if the deal will go through or not. I don't know, and I don't know how long it will take.

There are other things we need to work out with Inter, but everything is going in the right direction.

Whether I take a minority share or a majority (share) will be important; we'll see what can be agreed.

The goal is to make Inter one of the top 10 teams in the world.
