Arrest over racist tweet

An 18-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly posting a racist Twitter message before a Sky Bet Championship match.

Nottinghamshire Police said the suspect had been detained on suspicion of committing a racially-aggravated public order offence ahead of Nottingham Forest's home fixture against Leicester on Wednesday night.

A police spokesman said the alleged offence involved a tweet directed at Leicester's supporters.

Foxes earn late point

Nottingham Forest were denied the chance to blow the Sky Bet Championship promotion race wide open as Riyad Mahrez earned 10-man Leicester a point with a late goal as a drama-filled east midlands derby ended 2-2.

Billy Davies' hosts fought from going a goal down to Jamie Vardy's 29th-minute strike to take a 2-1 lead through a thumping header from Jamie Paterson and an Andy Reid penalty just before the break.

Nigel Pearson's league leaders were far from beaten however and, despite being a man light following Paul Konchesky's 60th-minute red card, snatched a 2-2 draw late on when Mahrez fired home amid a goalmouth scramble after Karl Darlow had saved Kevin Phillips' penalty.

Konchesky deal falls through

PA Sport understands a proposed move to Brighton for Leicester defender Paul Konchesky has fallen though.

The former England international's wages are thought to have been a stumbling block but the left-back also preferred to remain with the Foxes rather than join their Sky Bet Championship rivals.
