Former Montpellier boss Rolland Courbis is expected to return to the Ligue 1 club as their new coach on Monday.
The well-travelled Courbis, who managed Montpellier between 2007 and 2009, has agreed to take over the post vacated by Jean Fernandez.
Montpellier coach Jean Fernandez has resigned after overseeing a run of seven Ligue 1 games without victory that has left the 2012 champions flirting with relegation.
Wednesday night's 2-0 defeat to Lorient at the Stade de la Mosson was a fourth reverse in seven matches while Montpellier have won only twice this season under the supervision of 59-year-old Fernandez.
Dynamo Kiev have confirmed the signing of midfielder Younes Belhanda from Montpellier.
The Ukrainian side have yet to reveal the fee or contract handed to the Morocco international, who was previously linked with Arsenal.
22 - Younes Belhanda has scored 22 goals in L1 since 2011/12, more than any other Montpellier’s player. Essential.
Montpellier will not stand in the way of Younes Belhanda leaving the club after they received "two concrete offers".
The news was confirmed by club president Laurent Nicollin, who did not reveal the identities of the clubs who have shown an interest.
A post on the club's official Twitter account read: "Laurent Nicollin: 'we have 2 concrete offers for Y. Belhanda with whom we are in agreement, it is up to the player to choose'."

Cisse? No, it is out of the question. I don't want a guy who plays DJ in bars.
It will not be Cisse or anyone else. We will play with (Emanuel) Herrera and (Gaetan) Charbonnier who are already at our club.
We don't need forwards, it is in defence that we need to take care of matters.
Arsenal are lining up a loan move for Lyon playmaker Yoann Gourcuff, who is currently costing the French club £80,000 a week, are willing to offload him, say Daily Mail. Arsene Wenger could also snatch Montpellier defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa from under Newcastle's, say the Mirror.
