Scotland vs Nigeria match fixing probe

Scotland's friendly against Nigeria on Wednesday night is understood to be the subject of a police investigation for match-fixing.

The National Crime Agency, which investigates serious and organised crime, is reported by the Daily Telegraph to have asked FIFA to issue an alert over attempts to fix the game at Craven Cottage.

No Scotland players are understood to be involved.

A Scottish FA spokesman told Press Association Sport: "We are liaising with the relevant authorities and will prepare for the match as normal."

Nigeria maintain hope of reaching semis

Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has not given up hope of reaching the Confederations Cup semi-finals - despite tomorrow's daunting final Group B game against world and European champions Spain.

We can't wait to play them. Anything can happen. That's what makes this such a great game.

It doesn't matter who we are playing, as long as the boys do what we want them to do. We will just play our game.
