Double deal for PSV

PSV Eindhoven have signed Holland international midfielder Stijn Schaars and versatile Colombian Santiago Arias from Sporting Lisbon.

Schaars, 29, has signed a three-year contract at the Philips Stadion with 21-year-old Arias following his Sporting team-mate to Holland on a four-year deal. Reports suggest PSV have paid the Lisbon club 1.6million euros for the pair.

PSV Eindhoven have completed the signing of teenage midfielder Adam Maher on a five-year-contract from AZ Alkmaar.

The 19-year-old was a key part of the AZ team last season, making 46 appearances.

Norwich agree deal for Toivonen

We never comment on any sums, but we have reached an agreement with Norwich for Ola [Toivonen].

Now it's entirely up to him to decide whether he wants to move.

We start training on Monday, if there is no deal with Norwich then I expect to him to be here.

Napoli have completed the signing of Belgium winger Dries Mertens on a five-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old becomes new Azzurri head coach Rafael Benitez's first signing at the Stadio San Paolo following two successful seasons with Eredivisie club PSV Eindhoven.

PSV winger set for Napoli

Dries sent me a text message saying he expects to go to Naples next week.

There doesn't seem to be anything standing in the way of the move. Dries really wants it.

His girlfriend let slip that they would have preferred to go to London but when a club like Napoli comes knocking, you should not have any doubts. It is a unique opportunity.
