Nick Blackman's second-half penalty earned Reading a point against Bolton in an entertaining contest between two of the promotion favourites in the Championship.

Darren Pratley's first-half header put Wanderers into a half-time lead at the Reebok Stadium.

But David Wheater's handball in the early stages of the second half saw Blackman level from the spot, ensuring both sides maintain their unbeaten starts to the season.

Danny Guthrie scored a stunning goal 15 minutes from time to hand Reading a 2-1 victory over Ipswich on their return to the Championship.

Jay Tabb had opened the scoring for Ipswich against his former club, but his early effort was cancelled out by Adam Le Fondre in first half stoppage time.

And it was Guthrie who left the best until last, giving Scott Loach little chance of keeping out his fearsome strike.

Reading goalkeeper Stuart Taylor has signed a new one-year contract with the club.

The 32-year-old joined the Royals in August last year and made four Premier League appearances.

The new contract keeps the former Arsenal and Aston Villa keeper at the Madejski Stadium until June 2014.

Reading and Juventus to team up

Reading are in discussions about linking up with Serie A champions Juventus.

The move could see the Royals, who already have close ties with Turkish giants Galatasaray, benefit from some of Italian side's fringe players.

They are looking for partner clubs and we’re in discussions right now

They have 100 players on the books which they look to develop and so they are looking to get partnerships with clubs who can help them do that.

It’s not like an exclusive arrangement where it’s only going to be us. We will be a part of the group that they are building their partnerships with.

It’s good to get established with a club like that. But there’s nothing to confirm yet, we are just in discussions.

Manchester United flop Bebe could be offered an escape route from Old Trafford by Championship outfit Reading.

The Portuguese striker has achieved nothing since arriving in England, and has spent the majority of his time out on loan at clubs such as Besiktas and Rio Ave.

Carrico set to join Sevilla

Former Sporting Lisbon skipper Daniel Carrico is set to join Sevilla on loan after just six months with Reading.

The 24-year-old, who can play at centre-half or in midfield, has arrived in Spain and is due to undergo a medical with Primera Division side Sevilla today.

Carrico made just three Premier League appearances for relegated Reading after joining the club from Sporting in January, agreeing a contract until the summer of 2015 with the Royals.
